Fear Factor

I was scrolling through some social media platform and came across a meme that said, "Everything you want is on the other side of fear". And I honestly never thought about it before then but, that was a true statement.

Fear can be good, sometimes. You need to be afraid of getting hit by a car to stay on the sidewalk, you know, look both ways. But fear becomes toxic when its paralyzing. Like when you're so afraid to make a wrong move/decision that you don't move at all. And if you're not moving, you're not learning. And if you're not learning, you're not growing. You see where this is going?

Instead of focusing on what could go wrong, focus on what can go right. Easier said than done, I know. But remember this, "As one door shuts another door is opened. There is no competition on the spiritual plane. What is rightfully mine is given me under grace." My girl, Florence Scovel Shinn, said that. If you can adopt this principle, fear and anxiety about trying new ideas or putting yourself out there, diminishes drastically.

Of course, as we advance to the next level of the game, we'll deal with new things along the way. Those things can be obliterated by the same principle. Hold to your vision and stay the course. You're almost there.
